2nd SINGLE FROM DEATH DRIVE ANTHROPOLOGY

YŪREI (SINGLE)

Released Jan 5th, 2026.

YŪREI is the second single from the upcoming third full-length by Chilean Metal force OVERTOUN, DEATH DRIVE ANTHROPOLOGY.

Inspired by Japanese folklore, the title refers to the 'yūrei' spirits trapped between worlds mirroring humanity’s eternal struggle with death’s shadow. The single also reflects the band’s deepened bond with Japan, forged during their 2025 tour. At the helm of its creation is world-renowned Argentinian producer MARTÍN FURIA (DESTRUCTION, NERVOSA, BARK), whose role transcends production into true collaboration. Together with Overtoun, he shapes a sound that is virtuosic yet primal, raw yet precise, and deeply rooted in Latin American identity. Recorded at Santiago’s iconic Estudio del Sur and released via Time To Kill Records, the single marks Overtoun as one of the most ambitious and important voices rising from Latin American metal today.

The art shows the cover made by renowned artist Paolo Girardi for the album.
